As some of you may know, my dog Sadie has been becoming sicker and sicker over the past two weeks. It started when I noticed she was throwing up socks and had diarrhea. Although she has never eaten clothing prior, I took her to the vet the following Saturday.
The vet took her temperature and sa...id she seemed healthy. An xray couldn't tell us if there was still a sock, just that her colon was inflamed. She was still drinking water, and not throwing it up. Thus he gave me pills and her a shot. He said that she should be feeling better by Sunday.
Unfortunately she is still on the decline. She hasn't been eating, I've been taking her on walks and she still been drinking water however she has become quite lethargic.
I took her to the vet today, and although her temperature was slightly high, she wasn't showing symptoms (throwing up water, fever etc.,) of a blockage. The doctor felt her stomach and said that it felt like knots and that she indeed needs surgery.
The surgery there costs $1800 that I do not have. I have reached out to two hospitals and am awaiting calls back that the doctor recommended.
I am hopefull that it isn't worse, although I've been told to prepare for that, in which case I will wait as long as possible (without her being in pain) for goodbyes.
I am reaching out because in the hopes that it is only surgery and I can't find a cheaper place, I will be creating a "GoFund Me" page. I will request that people, if they want, donate no more that $20 as I will be unable to pay it back. This is of course optional, however I would like if people would keep a look out and spread the word.
I've done everything I can so far and you all know I am anything but a patient person, especially when it comes to my Sadie.
Thank you for taking time to read this post.
