SA Busy Bodies- Brightening Children's Futures

Tax deductible
If you have had any experience with San Antonio Busy Bodies in the past 50 years, you know this is a unique program serving children in our community. I have had the opportunity to be connected to San Antonio Busy Bodies as a child whose life was turned around by the program's services and now as an instructor helping children just like myself succeed!

As a child, I struggled academically, emotionally, and socially. By the age of 6, I felt like a failure, and because of that, my self-esteem, attitude, and behavior suffered. Then my parents found San Antonio Busy Bodies (formerly Trinity Motor Behavior and Learning Lab). Dr. Robert Strauss, the founder, and director remembers to this day cheering me on as I reached developmental milestones that seem routine for most children but require additional intervention to achieve. Through assessment and therapy, Busy Bodies answered why and addressed my developmental delays. I developed tools to write neatly and quickly, so I was no longer the last child in my class finishing assignments. Instructors worked with me to improve my balance (vestibular response), to go up and down stairs without fear of falling. With Busy Bodies' unique approach to treating the whole child's needs, my ability improved, I became more motivated to try, and I saw myself perform tasks that other children found easy. As a result, I gained a positive attitude towards school, friends, and my future!

So yes. Busy Bodies means a lot to me and thousands of children who have attended throughout the past 50 years. The mission of San Antonio Busy Bodies is to provide a fun and effective motor behavior and learning program for children from early childhood through adolescence, where the learning atmosphere is one in which success is the rule rather than the exception.

This past year and a half have not been without difficulties for San Antonio Busy Bodies, but we are slowly bouncing back from the impact Covid-19 had on our program. In addition, we have some fantastic parents who have seen the incredible changes our program has made in their child's life, that are volunteering their time and talents to serving San Antonio Busy Bodies. With their help, a plan is in place to grow our program's reach in 2022 to continue serving our community and changing the lives of even more children in the coming years!

With the uptick of COVID-19 cases in children over the past couple of months and some recent unforeseen operational expenses, San Antonio Busy Bodies finds itself in need of financial support to meet our usually low operating costs. Our staff believes so much in the mission of this fantastic program that they have made personal and financial sacrifices over the last year and a half to keep the doors open. So here is the call to action.

 NOW WE NEED YOU!

You can make a difference by donating today to San Antonio Busy Bodies Incorporated. Whether big or small, your donation will fund continued programming for children in 2021 and set into motion the expansion of programming in 2022!
