To know Sabrina Cruz Castro is to know her strength, loyalty, love, kindness, and selflessness. She is a hard working dedicated make up artist in Local 706. Her attention to detail of her artistry is like no other.
On Oct 19th while shooting a movie in Santa Fe, New Mexico Sabrina became extremely ill. She was in and out of the hospital for about 3 weeks. After countless tests it’s believed that Sabrina contracted Autoimmune Encephalitis, caused by an as of yet unknown viral infection. Currently, she is back in LA with her family and is under going additional testing.
Sabrina has suffered a great physical trauma as she’s battled this illness. She has experienced extreme and rapid weight loss, her balance, equilibrium and dexterity have been affected. Her motor skills are compromised. Her mobility has been affected as well. At present she is unable to do the things that she loves and bring her joy (make-up, art, writing, etc). Small things that were once simple and ordinary, now require an enormous amount of effort and help.
Sabrina has a long road of recovery ahead of her, which will leave her unable to work for an unknown amount time. She needs intensive ongoing medical treatment and will require rigorous physical therapy. Sabrina has an incredible drive and determination to regain her health, get back to work and to fully live every moment of her life.
Saying 2020 has been a hard year for all of us, would be an understatement.
Any amount you could contribute to Sabrina during this challenging time, will help her with her living/medical expenses and would be deeply appreciated by Sabrina and her family.
Blessings and gratitude!
