SA Aurora's School Relief Fund
Hello,
We are the Homberg Family from Jackson, Tennessee. We are asking for assistance in raising funds for the Walker family, and Aurora Primary School, in Bapsfontein, South Africa. We meet them on a mission trip a few years back and have kept in touch. The Walker family has run the Christian school for native South African children from the urban township of Ivory Park, outside Johannesburg. The Ivory Park is one of the poorest areas in South Africa with little opportunity and harsh living conditions. The Walkers minister to children from Ivory Park by providing a Christian, boarding school education, in a nuturing rural environment. They house, feed, educate, love, and minister to 70-100 children annually.
They recently suffered two tragic, major setbacks. A brush fire from a neighboring farm destroyed grazing pastures for milk producing livestock and irrigation equipment for pastures and gardens. Within the same week, a break-in resulted damage to gates, doors, and alarm systems. Electronic equipment , computers, and routers used for classroom education were stolen.
We are asking for help in providing for the Walkers needs to build back up, as they have done for the needs of so many others. All the money will be going back into buying the supplies that were lost during the robbery and fire. My dad, Eric, will be the one directly send it to Walker family so that they can buy the supplies in Johannesburg. Anything counts! Thanks!
