Hey, y’all. My name is Shane and I'm a Black nonbinary trans kid from Brooklyn. I hate to ask, but I seriously need some help.
As I’m sure you all know, the additional $600/wk PUA is no longer in place. My former job (which laid me off in March because of the NYC shutdown) has yet to call me back to work, or even let me know that they’ve reopened... despite the fact that they’ve been open for more than two months now. Since I can’t count on going back, I don’t have much of an option but to look for another job. Which means I need a car.
My hope is to eventually get PA work, since filmmaking is my dream, but PA gigs can be hard to get without your own transportation—only made worse by the fact that the pandemic has slowed down film production immensely. So until I can get more steady PA work, I’ll be using my car for side hustles to make ends meet.
I’ve already put down a nonrefundable deposit for the car and have exhausted my savings; I need help making the rest of the payment or else I won’t have anything left over for essentials (food, laundry, RENT, etc.) My goal is $5000, which will cover taxes, insurance, and the car itself.
