Support Logan's Battle with Cancer

Logan Matthew Barnes is a strong and kind young man who is suddenly facing the life-changing reality of having been diagnosed with a rare form of cancer.  A 22 year old Senior at UNC Chapel Hill, he is majoring in Astrophysics, is a valued member of UNC’s Kappa Alpha Order, and has been working as a waiter at Top of the Hill Restaurant in Chapel Hill, NC.  An outstanding student, he is also an active athlete who was a standout soccer player in high school.  He loves watching movies, gaming, cheering for the Tar Heels, hanging out with his fraternity brothers, family and friends, and going fishing.

After experiencing pain and limited movement in his leg, Logan was diagnosed with the rare form of bone cancer known as Ewing’s Sarcoma. With fewer than 200 cases of this cancer arising a year, Logan is lucky to have doctors familiar with the disease caring for him at The Duke University Cancer Center in Durham NC.  He has started the grueling treatments prescribed, and will be enduring an intense series of chemo and radiation treatments for many months.  He is on medical leave from his studies at UNC Chapel Hill, is unable to continue his job as a waiter, and faces substantial financial and personal challenges. The good news is that it appears the cancer has not spread, giving him and his family welcome hope for a good outcome.
