Medical Outreach Trip to Vietnam

For those of you who do not know me, my name is Jessica Gomez. I am a sophomore nursing student at Villanova University in Pennsylvania which is about 3,000 miles away from my hometown of Oxnard, CA. Villanova continues to open countless doors to opportunities that have already created huge impacts on my life, but the opportunity I am most ready to learn and grow from will be this next service trip.
In the summer of 2019, I have been selected to join a team that will embark on a 2-week medical outreach trip to Vietnam. This team is called Volunteers Around the World (VAW) Villanova. Our focus in Vietnam will be improving the welfare of the surrounding communities by providing access to medical treatment and health education through free clinics. While abroad, we are hoping to establish a holistic human-to-human connection to foster well-being as a whole.
I would be humbled by a contribution of a financial gift to help with the cost of this medical ministry. The cost for each participant for this two week-long medical outreach trip is near $3,500. This cost includes airfare, lodging (at a host home), transportation (to and from clinic sites), 3 meals per day, and medical supplies for both VAW and for Vietnam to keep sustaining healthy lifestyles.
As a nursing student, formative experiences like this will help develop me into the best care-giver I can be; but as a humanitarian, engaging in formative experiences like this will help grow our communities in love.
