Stella’s Medical Bills
Donation protected
Update: Stella is improving but unfortunately our personal vet is closed for the holidays and we’ve had to transfer her to a 24 hour emergency vet to continue her IV fluids to keep her kidney levels moving in the right direction. We’ve had to pay close to $4k at the emergency vet alone upfront in full…we are maxed out and I’m essentially going to have to open a new line of credit. And this won’t even include future treatment with our family vet.
Stella is essentially in stage 4 renal failure, but there is hope, we had to admit her to the hospital and have her on 72 hour IV fluids-the IV fluids seem to be bringing down the necessary levels to get her stable and in a good place for treatment. However, her blood panel is extremely complicated to determine the root cause and they need to be shipped off to the University of Michigan so we can treat the root cause of this and not just treat her symptoms otherwise all of this work & effort will have been for nothing. Although Stella is a senior dog of 12 years old, her breed life expectancy is 16, it would be amazing to have 4 more years with her but if I even get 1 more good year with her it will all be worth it. We just recently lost Alex's dad not even 3 months ago and we’re not ready for another unexpected loss in our life. With that said the 72 hour care, the specialty testing & future medications - the medical bills are slowly piling up beyond our means. I know it’s the Holidays and everyone is probably just as strapped for funds as we are but if you know Stella, love Stella, you know how special she is to us. Even a dollar donation would mean the world and if you can’t donate a share means just as much. We’re praying for a Christmas miracle
I got Stella when I was just 16, young dumb and stupid - she chose me as her owner, I really wanted her sister but Stella said no I’m coming home with you. I hid her from my Dad for 3 days bc I knew he would be so mad that I got a dog behind his back, it was such a bad idea at the time but it’s the best thing I’ve ever done in my entire life. We’ve been inseparable ever since, I didn’t leave my house without Stella by my side. I’ve never been bonded to an animal the way that Stella and I are bonded, she has been my ride or die for the past 12 years, she has gone everywhere with me and done everything with me, I’m so happy I’ve been able to give her such a happy life & im really hoping for a little bit more time with her.
