The 'S' Word Project - 24 Interviews
Project and Organization Background:
The S Word Project is about creating a safe space for teens to talk about sex. We have planned a media project called 24 Interviews. Taping will begin at the end of August. This project will collect testimonials from adults so that teens can learn how to make better choices. We want to erase the taboo and make talking about sex as easy. We will have 24 people from different walks of life come to a specified location and answer the same 10 questions. The responses will get edited into short viral “buzz feed” type videos and then get posted on our website and social media outlets. We’ll also show the video to youth groups at schools and community centers this fall and next spring.
My request is that you give a monetary donation to cover expenses for editing, swag bags for participants, space and equipment rentals, and for the events where we'll show the videos to the teens. We are now a 501(c)3 not for profit organization so your contribution is tax deductible.
According to the Center for Disease Control, 50% of teen boys & girls ages 14-19 are sexually active; those are just the ones counted who told the truth when surveyed. 30% of teens who drop out of high school do so because of teen pregnancy. Help us bring this drop out rate to 0%.
