Hope For Jeremiah

Anything and any small amount helps As many of you are aware, Our son, Jeremiah , was diagnosed with a rare congenital heart defect known as Double Inlet Left ventricle (DILV) is a heart defect that is present from birth (congenital). It affects the valves and chambers of the heart. Babies born with this condition have only one working pumping chamber (ventricle) in their heart. Being diagnosed with dilv brings on a few more heart problems that lead to more reoccurring surgeries in the future This defect is so rare only 1 in 100,000 babies are born with it . The defect in short order will put Jeremiah in a battle from the day he is born Jeremiah will require 3 surgeries in 3 stages the first one being a surgery to his aorta within his first week of birth making his first 4 months his most critical time period to the start of his life we’ll be set up with palliative care and doctors monitoring his stability the entire way ,leaving him very vulnerable and susceptible to a long list of other health complications that could jeopardize his life his diagnosis which would require open heart surgery to fix we have a big battle to face come March The goal is for Jeremiah to grow in order to face his next three surgeries . Due to the intensity of his diagnosis and severity of his surgeries Jeremiah will have to be in the hospital 6-8 weeks after birth the hope is that we make it to 39 weeks before going into labor to give Jeremiah the best fighting chance Unfortunately due to the unexpected events of COVID and the fact that Trish will have to stay in the hospital with him and Jay being the main source of income we are both timing out the best possible way to take off work in order to face living in the hospital for 1-2 months after delivery while still maintaining home bills and Aliyah as well . We won’t be holding a baby shower this time around the expenses to have to do one and aside from the risk is just to great for us to unfortunately take right now leaving us with having to purchase everything so far on our own in efforts to raise the money to be able to help cover some of the expenses and medical bills the decision was made to start this go fund me . There are many expenses and challenges That We are facing going forward.  Unfortunately, we are still working out logistics with insurance and coverage for all the procedures and stages of surgeries medications, treatment and ICU stays, & Medevac's are also not typically covered by insurance, and can run upwards of $100,000. Living so far away from Memorial regional where we will be delivering we may need services we are still trying to process how to cover on our own While the future is still unclear, due to the type of defect , he will require special care, and will not be able to go to daycare due to risk of infection and injury. Leaving Tricia out of work for the first few months for sure . In addition to the medical and care expenses, Trish and Jay have they’ll be living at the hospital, eating between the cafeteria and takeout, which we know can be an expense in and of itself! Aliyah our 4 year old amazing daughter will be going back and forth between home and relatives as well as alternating schedules with trish and jay so that we are able to be there for Jeremiah AND Aliyah equally as it will be a battle for our entire family of 4❤️ . Thank you in advance for your support, both financial and emotional. It means the world to us with prayers finances and with a good support team we continue to pray for our miracle and thank each and every one of you for being apart of This journey with us. We will have palliative care and doctors monitoring the stability of our son to help keep him alive , ultimately leaving everything in Gods hands. We don't ask that you feel sorry for us but that you walk this path with us as this will be the most difficult thing we have experienced as a family. I hope that with the help of everyone we will be able to ensure Jeremiah receives the care and correct surgical attention. He is due March 17th and we are trying to ensure the Hospital costs and Surgery costs we need to pay for are taken care of before the birth of our gift. Anything any small amount helps Thank You
