Ryan's Olympic Journey
Donation protected
I am extremely excited for my baby brother, Ryan Pivirotto, making the US Men’s Short Track team in the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea. Ryan will be fulfilling his dream by representing the United States as a member of Team USA! Costs to train an elite athlete can be considerable and his only financial support from US Speedskating covers travel and lodging to World Cup and Olympic competitions. Other training expenses, including coaching, housing, equipment and miscellaneous travel are paid for out of pocket.
Ryan began his career in short track speedskating as a high school freshman in 2010 and showed strong potential. His dedication to the sport showed when he completed his education on-line while training away from home. His rapid development paid off 2½ years later when he won the 2013 Men’s National Championship. After this, Ryan continued to progress to the international competition level and had the following successes:
2014 – US Short Track Junior World Cup Team
2014 – US Short Track Olympic Trial competition
2015, 2016, 2017 – US Short Track World Cup Team
I am asking you to consider supporting this dedicated US athlete. Below you will find a breakdown of his expenses for the past 12 months. His training expenses going forward will be similar.
Coaching / Ice Fees (11 mths) $1200/mth $13,200
Food/Housing (11 mths) $1200/mth $13,200
Airfare (team selection trials, national competions
$2400
Competition food/lodging $1000
Boots (1 pair/season) $2000
Blades (2 sets/season) $1000
TOTAL ANNUAL COSTS $32,300
