Ryan Stanberry Recovery Fund

Donation protected
On April 18th, Ryan suffered an accident that caused a full break and dislocation of the head of his left humerus. The full extent of the injury is still unclear, as well as whether or not there is permanent nerve damage to his arm and hand.

This injury requires a complicated surgery involving the installation of plates, pins, and graphs which will hopefully give him the support he needs for the bone to heal. If that fails he will need a full shoulder replacement. He’s looking at a minimum 6-8 weeks recovery time followed by several months of physical therapy.

Thankfully Ryan’s girlfriend, Bonnie, is at his side at the hospital taking care of him every step of the way.

As many of you know, Ryan makes his living primarily as a guitar teacher, and he's also the lead guitarist for Zombie University.  He spends his weekends performing, sometimes picking up side gigs filling in with other local bands. Needless to say, Ryan will not be playing guitar for up to 6 months which means he will for a time be losing his income. There will be several additional medical bills rolling in over the course of the next several months, not to mention continued obligations of rent and other normal living expenses.

Ryan is such a generous person and would never ask for help, but we want to do everything we can to get him through this difficult time. Anything you can donate would be so appreciated. Please spread the word by sharing this Go Fund Me.

A few note's from people who love Ryan...

"Ryan Stanberry, aka “Strawberry,” and “Dark Strawberry,” has recently suffered a serious accident which will keep him from being able to work for some time. We all know Ryan as the teacher/guitarist/singer with the heart of gold. He very much reflects the better angels of our natures with his generosity of spirit and “joie de vivre.” He exults in the small things, and his joy is infectious to everyone around him. Please join us in digging deep to ensure our beloved friend can keep up with his necessary obligations at this time, as well as with imminent medical expenses."

"Ryan Stanberry came into my life 6 years ago when he joined my Dad’s band, Saint Credible. I was fortunate to be present for his first rehearsal with them and I was immediately struck by his incredible talent, both vocally and on the guitar. When the guys took a break I chatted with him on the patio for a while, and though the years have diluted the details of that conversation, I remember the feeling I had and the impression he made. Here was a young man who was down to earth, whose conversations went deep and had meaning, and who wouldn’t (and still never has) talked ill of anyone. Fast forward to today, and I’ve had the immense pleasure of performing with him hundreds of times in multiple bands, and sometimes over beers in a living room. Outside of music, Ryan is someone who is always down to hangout over good food, and good drinks, great conversation, and a reliable friend who would do anything for those he loves. Ryan is one of my closest friends, and my heart breaks to see such hardship befall such an amazing person. Let's get together and make a difference by helping someone who has made all our lives brighter <3"

"He started hanging out after rehearsals jamming and talking about life late into the night. That's how we discovered his passion for chess, wine, card tricks, poker, and creating the fibonacci sequence in chocolates. We knew we had found a kindred spirit!"
