Dear Family and Friends,
Ryan Keyes, age 28 was diagnosed with Stage 3 Testicular Cancer on September 11 of 2020. The cancer has spread to his back, lung and lymph nodes. His urologist and oncologist are both very optimistic that Ryan will beat cancer and make a full recovery, but he’s got a rough road ahead. We are so very grateful to have received this prognosis!
He will undergo surgery on Friday, September 25 to remove his right testicle and will begin aggressive chemotherapy treatment beginning on Monday, September 28, that will run for 9 weeks.
Ryan is currently living in Indianapolis, IN. He works construction and plays drums in a band called Hero Jr. He knows he won’t be able to work for quite a while or play the drums. But he’s focused on returning to normal life as soon as he’s able to. His faith is strong and his attitude is classic “Ryan”… always sees the sunny side of everything!
We have decided to set up a Go Fund Me page for Ryan in addition to the Caring Bridge, in order to help keep his household expenses paid and other expenses not covered by insurance while he’s not able to work. If you are inclined to send him a gift of any amount, he would be beyond appreciative. Ryan is already overwhelmed by the love and support he’s received from so many; he keeps saying “Mom, I’m so blessed to know so many awesome people who care about me!”
Truly, the prayer power we felt from all of those praying for Ryan just after his diagnosis was really remarkable. He certainly felt it and so did our family. From Ryan and all of us, we sincerely thank you for those prayers! Please keep him on your list.
