Education Fund for Ava Gilpin, In Memory of Ryan Gilpin

Hello, my name is Meghan MacMillan, Ryan’s sister in law, and on behalf of the family I am creating this.

It is with a heavy heart that I share that on May 21st, 2024, Ryan unexpectedly lost his life. It is my greatest hope that his family, most importantly his daughter, will be given the time and space needed to mourn this loss and find healing.

As mentioned above, Ryan leaves behind his 15 year old daughter, Ava Gilpin. Ava was the light of Ryan's life and gave him every will to continue on in his journey towards healing and personal wellness. While Ryan may have faced obstacles in his life, Ava came into this world to a father who absolutely adored her and who did until the day he left us.

Anyone who knows Ava knows her as a bright, loving, and deeply feeling young woman. As a village, it is our privilege to gather around and support Ava as she needs and welcomes it while she faces this profound grief.

In memorial of Ryan's passing, and in lieu of flowers, we are asking for financial support for Ava's future education. These funds will be held in trust until the time comes for her to pursue post-secondary or other forms of higher education.
