Ryan Deery - Irish Cancer Society Fundraiser

Hi everyone, my name is Ryan Deery. I am 21 years of age and from Carlow, Ireland. I have been diagnosed with Stage 4 Lymphoma Cancer earlier this year. After applying for a role in the Irish Army, I carried out the compulsory medical examinations. The blood results came back abnormal and following referrals from my local GP and several more tests, I was then diagnosed with my illness. I have completed my standard chemotherapy treatments and have now moved on to advanced chemotherapy. After been through this difficult journey that is still ongoing today, it made me feel a need to help others who are in a similar situation. I feel that further awareness and research needs to be undertaken here in Ireland and decided to start a fundraiser where all proceeds will go towards the Irish Cancer Society for the purposes of creating awareness and furthering the research that is being carried out.
