Ryal's Furniture Emergency Fundraiser

Before I get started with my story, I would like to say if you have any type of insurance please by all means sit down and go over your package with your agent or someone with insurance knowledge.

I started my business 35 years ago with $300, as my business grew, I made a promise to myself not to forget the struggle and the struggles of everyday people. Which I have stayed true to by giving to programs, individuals who needed help, hiring people who had a hard time finding a job. That's just to name a few. (Please feel free to Google my contributions to people and my community.) I also started a television show to help encourage and motivate people to be all they can be while going through this journey called life.

On July 30th, 2019 I was sitting in my shop waiting for a storm to pass. After, awhile I thought maybe I should leave early to go prepare for my show (which, I normally would not do.) I left excited, thinking about the message I was going to deliver to the public (Self-worth was the title). After, delivering a positive message I was full of joy. I headed back to my shop to check on things and ran into an unexpected traffic jam, police and fire trucks were everywhere. Clouds of smoke filled the air, that’s when a strange feeling came over me. As I got closer, I realized it was my shop up in flames. My life's work was stopped along with my heart for a moment. My shop was hit by a lightning bolt and burned down to the ground. In minutes, it was gone along with everything inside of it. My heart went out to my customers, whom had furniture in there being restored. Monetary value is one thing, sentimental value is another.

So here I sit with a limited amount of insurance that doesn't cover what I thought. I have always been on the giving end, which makes me feel great. I'm now on a side that I'm not used to being on but a side I need right now. If you can, anything would be appreciated.

All funds will contribute to repurchasing my tools and vehicles that were lost in the fire.

Thank you,

Ryal Thomas
