ROXI'S Vet Bill

Donation protected
This is the story of Heather my sister, her dog Roxi and Fred-who is just an amazing person. In 2012 Heather had to go under major heart surgery.  Just before surgery she had a stoke.  Heather went through with the 10 hr plus operation and had two heart valves replaced. It was touch and go for a bit but she survived! Once released from hospital Fred and Heather got married (that was on the top of her bucket list.) Romantics at heart I think.  We were all hopeful for the future.
Lets fast forward now to 2018 and some history behind the go fund page-Heather has been in and out of hospital over the years. Things have not been very good for her, many serious set backs.  The result is now Heather is in fulltime diapers, wheelchair or bed ridden, her speech is somewhat impaired and she can only hold a conversation for a few minutes at a time.  She can only drink liquids so she dosen't choke she needs to be fed by hand and only soft foods, like scramble eggs or apple sauce. Fred carries on staying positive and consistently cleans and feeds her, gives her meds, changes her, dresses her, baths her, and loves her to pieces every single day!. Not many would step up like he has. Yes amazing and both in their early senior years!.
So now to the actual reason for the go fund me page...ROXI! the right hand nurse dog! the little dog who turned out huge, she is now 7yrs old.. Roxi makes Heather smile and laugh and Roxi seems to have taken on the role of her support nurse and comedy relief dog. Always trying to be by Heather's side or get onto the bed with her (which is not always a good idea since she is 115lbs lol).  Roxi knows Heather is different now probably by her smell. Dogs are amazing that way.  Without Roxi though we think Heather would really be in worse shape.
Recently, Roxi has had a serious injury and because of this Roxi needed surgery for her knee.  A TPLO - Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy.

(Copy and Paste this link above. it explains it better than I can.)   Roxi seemed in terrible pain so Fred went ahead and put the $3500.00 deposit for her to have it. Roxi had the surgery Jan 4th, 2018.  It went well and they expect a full recovery. Fred is so happy that Roxi is free of pain now and Heather is less stressed. The Vet said she is standing on her leg already.  Since the huge snow storm hit the same day back east Roxi had to stay longer in the hospital. Fred will pick her up this week when the Care aid can come over for Heather.  I am posting in hopes we can put a big dent in that Vet Bill so Fred can just concentrate on taking care of his girls and himself.  We are not sure how long Heather has she is in palative care at home.  Fred has done so much and we know this journey with Heather is not over.  We would love to be able to give back some to him and relieve some of the financial pressure he feels. So that is the final reason for the go fund me page..Life should not be this hard. . If you can help financially Thank you. If not, please share.
