House Fire Family Relief

On April 30th, my family was hit with tragedy. After making dinner on a Sunday afternoon, a driverby notified my family that the outside of their home had caught fire. Within minutes, they lost everything. We are grateful and beyond blessed that our family was able to escape the fire quickly and safely. My grandparents, aunt, and her children were observed for smoke inhalation, while my uncle has been taken to a facility that can properly address the burns he obtained while attempting to save their family pets.

My aunt, Terra, moved her family from San Diego to provide care and assistance to my aging grandparents, whom both suffer from dementia. Everyone was in the home when this tragedy occured and witnessed all of their belongings, pets, and life as they know it burn down in front of them.

It is moments like this we remember the importance of family and community. Things can be replaced, new memories can be made, but it is life that we are most grateful for today.
