Help for the Linden’s

About 18 months ago Adrian started to get sores on her feet again. She started the process by going to our family doctor once again to try to find an answer. She started weekly wound care at the hospital, and started the steps in order to find out what was causing them or to rule out what it wasn’t. She endured countless tests including an in office biopsy, a surgical biopsy, x-rays, ultrasounds on her legs, 2 leg surgeries, allergy tests and too many labs to keep track of. She saw vascular specialists, rheumatologist’s, allergy specialist’s, dermatologists and worked with an amputation prevention specialist constantly. After months of exhausting efforts she was misdiagnosed with microvascular disease and continued to get wounds on her feet. She was then referred to the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota where we finally got the correct diagnosis of Livedoid Vasculopathy. She is the 43rd person in the United States to have this confirmed diagnosis. Though it was nice to find the cause of the problem, unfortunately, there is not much you can do as it is a rare, chronic disease. Not only has this taken a toll on Adrian mentally, and physically, but on our family as a whole. We have tried our best to make it on one income, but we our slowly sinking as a family of six, it hasn’t been easy. Between medical bills, household bills, vehicle repairs, and making sure the kids have everything they need, we are slowly running out of options. We have applied for disability in June, which was first denied, we have appealed it, but have yet to get any answer. It saddens us greatly to not be able to have a normal Christmas with the kids, but have tried to explain we are so far behind on bills that things just won’t be the same. It’s been the most hard and stressful year, but we are trying to stick together as a family and pray that Adrian is able to find some relief, and that we are able to make it through this. We normally don’t like asking for help, but at this point it’s all we can do. Any little bit helps to put towards a bill or extra food on the table, or make repairs on the truck so Tory has a reliable vehicle to get to and from work as that is our only means of income.
