Ruth Glass Stroke Recovery

Dear Family and Friends,
On Sunday October 18, 2020, our mom, Ruth Glass, at 96 years old had a stroke. That same day she was rushed to Emanuel hospital where they determined that our mom's blood pressure was 199/85. With no consideration of our mom's care, Emanuel hospital discharged her. After being discharged from Emanuel hospital we rushed our mom to Providence because her condition had not changed-- she kept falling to her right side and could not walk. Providence hospital determined our mom had a STROKE! Paralyzing her right side. All of a sudden our 96 yr old, independent, lively mom's life has changed and needs total care. She can’t move her right side and perform her own ADL’s (Activities of Daily Living) anymore. She spends her days receiving physical, occupational and speech therapy. .
Most of you who know our mom know that she is an incredibly healthy and independent 96-year-old woman with a smile that lights up the room. When you ask her "how are you?" Her reply is “Oh! I’m doing good, like old girl should”. Some of you may not know that Ruth is an incredibly talented poet and she retired from JCPenny’s Company as a Seamstress in the Alterations department. Losing her livelihood has been devastating; this incident on top of the COVID-19 crisis has been absolutely heartbreaking for our mom and family.
Our mom's faith in the Lord is strong and we are praying and asking God for her full recovery in Jesus name. We sincerely thank everyone for their heartfelt prayers, texts, calls, love and support. As we all know Ruth, our mom, and our family has a VERY long road to recovery ahead and no donation is too small. Thank you in advance for your support whether financially or through prayers. We have faith that God will help us all through this difficult time.
