Help One Amazing Musician, Guitarist Russ Brent, In His Recovery From A Vehicle Accident.

During the day on February 16 Russ was heading to Calgary from Stavley. In whiteout conditions near High River an accident occurred with a snow plow and his vehicle was totaled. Details of the accident are pending due to investigation, no alcohol or other substances were involved.

Russ sustained massive injuries including: broken collar bone,  broken knee, 9 broken ribs and damage to his spleen.  Some of these injuries have required surgery which he has come through well.  Russ is still in hospital, no calls or visits at this time please.

Russ’s medical team are waiting for him to stabilize prior to release (no timeline yet). Once he has been released his road to recovery will be long.

Russ Brent – Guitarist, has been rocking the stage in Alberta and BC for 30 years playing with bands such as Beer Fish, Hard Drive, New Moon, Tom Petty Tribute Band, Funk and Disorderly, United Soul Development, Moonshadow, Missing Peace and so many more. The venues he has played are numerous and the crowds that were amazed by his guitar stylings are infinite.

As Russ makes his living as a professional musician, he will not be able to gig for some time. Help Russ focus on recovery instead of worrying about money.

Russ’s music has touched so many people please donate what you can to this amazing musician so he can get back to doing what he loves, making music for you!

All donations (minus Go-fund-me fees) will go directly to Russ to help pay for meds, care, equipment rentals and other expenses.

A fundraiser will be held on Sunday March 3rd from Noon – 5:00 pm at the Ironwood Stage and Grill, 1229 9th Avenue SE Calgary.  Join us if you can.  $10 minimum donation at the door

Note to Fellow Musicians: None of Russ’s guitars were injured in the collision.

What an amazing turn out and love for Russ at the Ironwood this weekend. If you could not make it have a peek.

Good News, Russ has been released from the hospital and is convalescing in an easy chair and being well taken care of.

He sends his gratitude and love to everyone and is very humbled at the help he is receiving from donations and from friends.

He has made a decision not to go to the Jam this weekend for a few reasons. With all those broken ribs laughing hurts way too much and if he catches a cold coughing would be agony. His mobility is limited right now.

Friends will be taking videos to share the event with him later so smile and say hi to the cameras if you can make it.

Hopefully it won't take too long for Russ to be back up and playing on the stage for you again.
