Hello, my name is Kim Terrell. In 2006 my husband and I purchased a home with 15 acres of land to continue and grow our no-kill shelter Humane Society of Terrell County. Our shelter was created to give these animals a chance to not only have food and water provided to them but to experience being loved and protected for as long as they are with us. 
We have been blessed to have rescued over 100 dogs in the last decade finding new forever homes for some and given the ones not adopted a forever home with us.
Since 2013 our shelter/sanctuary has been fighting a rezoning battle with our county commission over someone who did not own our land rezoning it and they allowed it, backed it and chose after discovering the facts not to grant us a variance that would enable us to remain. 
We lost our legal battle which has put the life of these animals in jeopardy. We are asking for funding to enable us to relocate the dogs all 55 of them. This new location has to have acres of fencing to provide safety and shelter for these babies as well as housing Our most desperate need is the fencing.
The county has only given us 45 days which started January 30th to find land, build new shelters and move the dogs. They do not care about these animals but I am hoping you do. If we can't move them the county will remove them and they will be euthanized. These are happy, healthy dogs that sadly will be the victims of the power and control of a county board.
I am begging for your help so that we can continue to provide a home of love and protection for these dogs and the many dogs that need us.
