Leeds 10k for Sue Mason & Macmillan

Serena and Liam's Leeds 10k.
Serena- The 3rd of January this year marked 5 years since my mum (Sue Mason) passed away from stage four breast cancer that had unbeknownst to us, spread to her spine by the time of diagnosis.
Now, it is a known fact that 1 in 3 people will have cancer at some point in their lifetime, meaning that every single one of us will be affected by this disease either directly or indirectly. I'm sure we can all agree that this is truly terrifying.
The thought of seeing another loved one suffer as a result of this disease is one that haunts me, and I'm sure I am not alone in this. This is why I, along with my incredibly supportive boyfriend, have decided to run the Leeds 10k in memory of my mum, and to raise funds for Macmillan cancer support, who helped her and us all until the very end.
Macmillan provide invaluable support and care for those with cancer, as well as their family and friends who are also struggling. From advice on how to tell your children, family and friends of your diagnosis- to pampering kits that make you feel that bit more human when the inevitable hair loss comes, Macmillan are truly amazing in times that are unimaginable.
A 10k may not seem that far, especially for 21 year olds with a supposed spring in their step. However, anyone that knows Liam and I will know that running certainly does not come naturally to either of us, in fact we bloody hate it. This will be a real challenge for us, but one that we know will be so worth it . So please donate anything that you can and help cheer us on this July (because my goodness we will need it.)
