Running for Team Kenny

Back in June when I was down on my luck without a job, home or money and living and working in a hostel for free accommodation, an unbelievably kind stranger called Kirk reached out to me and offered me not only helpful advice on the job front but also a home-cooked meal with his beautiful family of his wife and two little boys as well as a topped up travel card to help me get to any interviews and money to go towards food. I was overwhelmed with how generous and kind both him and his wife were to me. 

I was heartbroken to hear that this kind and beautiful family are going through an incredibly tough time right now with their little son Oli being suddenly diagnosed with a brain tumour, turning their world upside down. 

I desperately wanted to help in some way for this wonderful generous family so I’m going to run 10K to help raise funds to help towards supporting this lovely family can provide some practical help with everyday expenses, whilst they get through this tough time.

Anyone who knows me will know that pre-lockdown, running was NOT my thing. It’s only when restrictions came in that I resorted to giving it a go just as something to do. I can just about manage a 5K so the 10K is gonna be a real challenge! I’m going to be running it on Saturday 13th March.
