Run4Her - Supporting 12 Orphaned Girls in Lebanon

On the 6th of May, Alex - olympic weightlifting coach - will embark on a 42-kilometer marathon in Milton Keynes, UK, not just as a physical challenge but rather to raise awareness about the condition of 12 orphaned girls in Lebanon.

Lebanon, amidst its economic turmoil, has left vulnerable communities, especially young girls, grappling with unimaginable challenges. Situated in a convent of nuns in Ghedres, these girls have been orphaned due to abusive or drug/alcohol-addicted parents. Living in conditions of extreme hardship, they lack accessibility to their basic needs and a proper education.

In light of this race, Alex’s goal is to highlight the exceptionally difficult situation that young, marginalized girls are facing, notably in their pursuit of education.

Run 4 Her campaign was launched by The Lebnene Ele Initiative, and in collaboration with Peaks Organization, to support these girls with their scholastic fee which includes their bus transport, from and to the orphanage center.

Lebnene Ele is a youth-led initiative that crowdfunds for accessibility to education and advocates for social and environmental rights.

Peaks is a Nonprofit that has been providing assistance to vulnerable children (for more information about who they are and what they do, consult their website https://www.peakswellness.org/).

With your help, we aim to alleviate some of the burdens these girls face. Each girl's tuition fee for the entire scholastic year amounts to 1,000 euros. By contributing to one of these girls, you would be providing them with the opportunity to receive an education and build a brighter future.
