Run for Ryan Campaign

As many of you know, my father, Ray Roy, died of Leukemia (AML) about 7 years ago.  When he died, I decided to start running in his memory to raise money for Dana Farber.  For four years, I raised money for them and then decided that I wanted to raise money for a family affected by cancer instead.  Last year, I ran for a friend of mine, an amazing woman who has 4 young children and lost her husband to cancer.  The year before that I ran for Andrew Stark, a little boy who fought Leukemia and is now in remission.  This year I have decided to run the Hartford Half Marathon on October 14, 2017 for a friend of my nephew, Ryan Doyle.  Ryan is a local high school student, in his Junior year, who has been diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a form of bone cancer.

This year, we are happy to announce that the Levesque family will be joining in the effort to help raise money for Ryan.  Lisa, Craig, and Dan Levesque lost their mom, Janet, to cancer about a year and a half ago and share my same passion for helping others effected by cancer, especially children.  Together we are all working to raise money to help Ryan’s parents pay for Ryan’s medical bills and other expenses that they will have due to Ryan’s condition.

            “Ryan is an avid lover of football and baseball.  He is a hard worker and leader both on
 and off the field. His teammates look up to him and love his good natured, friendly, and happy personality.  He is always ready to lend a hand to friends in need.  Everyone who knows Ryan loves him and wants to be friends with him.

            This year Ryan was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a form of bone cancer.  I believe that Ryan’s determination on the field and in school and his “never give up” personality will shine through to and help him beat cancer.  I know I speak for my teammates as well when I say that we are all behind Ryan and are here for him in any way we can be.”  - Koby Ray
