Run For Moldova 2

UPDATE 2: 
On April 21 I will be competeing in the Smokey Mountain Relay, another relay race through the Great Smokey Mtns,  as a last ditch effort to reach the financial goal for Moldova! I am currently slated to run 19.4 miles basically UPHILL! We are only $300 away for reaching the goal. Would you consider donating $1 per mile to help acheive the goal?   


UPDATE 1:
The Palmetto 200 was a success! Our team ran the 205 miles in a blistering time of 23hrs9mins and finshed just off of the podium in 4th place. Still yet, this pace was a mere 4minutes slower than the winning time last year so obviously, the competition showed up! 

On a personal note, I actually ran my fastest times ever by averaging a 6m32s pace over 27 miles! Out of those 27 miles, only 4 miles were over a 7min pace for those keeping track for donations. ;)



Hey gang! Thanks for taking a second to check out what my GoFundMe page is all about. Last year was my first trip to Moldova & I'm super excited about continuing our mission there. 

Here are a few statistics about Moldova:
- More than 25k Moldovans are trafficked abroad yearly
- Moldova is ranked 15th in the world on the Global Slavery Index
- The average yearly income per person is $4,669
- Moldova's economy is ranked 40th out of 43 European nations

A few years ago, Vintage City Church identified and adopted a village in Moldova, set up through through the organization, Justice & Mercy (www.justiceandmercy.org). Our mission now is to take our next steps in building our relationship with 'our' adopted community and to model the love of Christ; that same love that has adopted us and made us His own. We will again be identifying children in need and enlisting them into the adoption queue for sponsorship. By doing so, these children will be rescued from the grasp of poverty and significantly reduce their chance of being abducted into sex slavery.

Also while there, we will be working hand in hand with the people of Moldova to aide in construction work during the day and provide worship gatherings at night.

So how can you help? The financial burden of Moldova is significant. The total cost for my trip to Moldova is $2,400. Nearly 70% of this cost will go directly toward airfare. The remaining portion will go toward food & shelter for our stay in Moldova. I am asking you to prayfully consider playing a major role by donating towards this trip. By doing so, you will be making a direct impact in the Moldovan community, as well as in the life of the children of Moldova.

So here's the plan:
On March 23-24, I will be competing with a team of 8 other runners in the Palmetto 200 relay race. This run begins in Lexington, SC and concludes in Charleston, SC, some 205 miles away. Currently, I am scheduled to run 23.62 miles (2 additional miles from last year) of the 205 miles total, in which we hope to complete in under 24hrs (4hrs less than last year). Here is my challange for you, as well as for me: For some of you, this pledge or donation may look different. Some of you may be interested in making a one time set donation, while others may like to see me earn it...I accept the challenge!
