Run for David and Heather

This summer, my friends David and Heather learned that David has advanced liver cancer. Heather says, "As most of you know, David is a rather introverted guy, so thank you for respecting his need for privacy during this time...Like every other party/event, he is "ghosting out" early, but wants you to know that he loves you all." David is in hospice now (August 2018). I have been looking for a way to support my friends while respecting David's wishes.
According to the American Cancer Society, 67% of the total costs of cancer treatment are non-medical. To help defray some of those costs, I am dedicating my next year of running to raising funds for my friends. I will be running a 5K, a 10K, a half-marathon (13.1 miles), and a marathon (26.2 miles) for a total of 54.3 racing units. I am asking 100 folks to donate $54.30 ($1 for each of these miles and kilometers) over the course of the next year. Sooner if you can. More if you can. In smaller increments, if need be. The bills will be there.
I am also inviting you to join me in running and fundraising. My first race will be Lemons of Love Pink Lemonade (4th Slice) 5K on October 7 (www.lemonsoflove.org). Why not walk/run a fall 5K and add your miles and dollars to the goal? It would create great energy to have your real or virtual company on the road!
