Kati

Please join us in supporting Kati.  She was just diagnosed with two brain aneurysms that need to be removed. The first surgery is next Wednesday. This is an open skull surgery to remove an aneurysm behind her right eye. She will be in the hospital for a week then sent home to rest. The second surgery will be 3/7/18. This is the larger of the two aneurysms. A shunt and coil will be placed in the basilar area of her brain. This will be conducted through her femoral artery and will require 1 or 2 nights in the hospital. She will need the most help after this surgery. 

 As some of you remember, Kati's older sister suffered a brain hemorrhage in 2013. She is permanently disabled as a result. One of her brothers suffered 2 ruptured aneurysms the day after Thanksgiving, 2017. He was in a coma for 56 days. His aneurysms were undiagnosed, as are most until it is too late. Medical professionals recommended Kati have a brain scan due to the family history. These 2 aneurysms were thankfully discovered before either ruptured. Currently, she is feeling fine and doing well, aside from a constant headache. 

Kati's road to recovery will involve a full month off work. She will need physical attention/ care at home, and assistance repaying the enormous medical bills. As some of you know, As some of you know, she had a bilateral mastectomy in 2016 and is still meeting the financial obligations of those surgeries. We all know how independent Kati is – she wouldn’t allow me to set this up if she thought she could manage all this on her own.
