Dear friends and colleagues of Jasmine,
Early January, Jasmine was diagnosed with invasive lobular breast cancer. Because of how beloved Jasmine is to us all at Scripps and in our larger San Diego community, this fund has been started on her and her family's behalf.
For the past fifteen years, Jasmine has worked as a nurse-midwife as well as a clinical instructor in San Diego, including work at Scripps, UCSD, Kaiser, and SDSU. She is loved by her patients, students and their families.
This year, Jasmine and her husband Edwin will celebrate twenty years of marriage in August, and they have three beautiful children: Aiden (15), Ava (13), Aubrey (10).

Jasmine met with her cancer care team and given the size, biology of her tumor and lymph node involvement the immediate plan of care is
Chemotherapy for 16 rounds
Surgery/Mastectomy
Radiation
Hormone therapy
Jasmine had already significantly decreased her part time and per diem work over the last two months and given the urgent start of chemo, she has begun her work leave of absence earlier than expected. Support is needed now.
The monetary funds raised here will go directly to supporting Jasmine and her family. During her treatment and recovery, Jasmine will be out of work for many months. Our hope is to offset their income loss and alleviate the added financial stress so the focus of her family can be supporting and caring for Jasmine throughout her healing.
