"The Fight is On" - for Evelyn Peña Carulo
This page is to raise money for Evelyn Peña Carulo and her family. As all, or many of you know, she was diagnosed with Classic Hodgkin's Lymphoma cancer last October (2011) after having relocated with her husband and [young] daughter to Texas from Florida 4 months prior. In November 2011, the upper left lobe of her lung along with a grapefruit size mass was removed in surgery.
Evelyn and her husband were both employed full time and were working from home upon getting to Texas. In October, right before Evelyn was diagnosed with cancer, her husband got a part time job to bring home a few more dollars. They BOTH lost their full time jobs in December (1st). Luckily, her husband's part time job provided health insurance for them and it became full time only recently.
As you know, a part time job does not earn anyone enough to sustain a family, home, and all the financial obligations that come with those. Because of this unexpected, sudden, and drastic change in income, they depleted the little savings that they had in no time. They asked our government for assistance but, inhumane as it is, it denied them of any. Evelyn is VERY ill. She is currently completed 12 rounds of ABVD chemotherapy and is undergoing radiation, this has ripped her of her "self" all around.
I know that they would never ask anyone for the help that they truly need and that is why I am setting up this fund to help them through this VERY difficult time. Please donate any amount that you can; every penny adds to dollars:
