Rottie mum and 3 pups

UPDATE

We wanted to update you on the rescue mission we completed last week. Sadly we lost two of Skye’s (now Dolly) pups which is heartbreaking and sadly Buddy the last surviving pup was injured by mummy by accident, not intentional but her sheer size and the fact the pups were premature and so tiny, carrying them around she punctured his back without even realising, bless her. He was taken to the vets and given antibiotics and we made the heartbreaking decision to protect him and give him the best chance, as was also not putting on weight, to take him off mum. Today he was back in the vets for a through flush out and it needed a staple but vet was confident it should heal but Buddy is back Monday for a check up. He’s feeding well and putting on weight so let’s he continues to do well and keeps fighting for his brothers and sisters he sadly lost we will keep you posted.

Mummy, Dolly is coping ok without the pups and took to carrying around a teddy for a few days! She has had a lovely play and walk in the field which the fosterer said was a lovely moment, she doesn’t leave her foster mummies side and is certainly living the best life, just how she should be! Sadly mummy also has some underlying health issues which once she ha fully recovered she will have a full examination at the vets but for the moment she is doing very well. She’s certainly had a life of hard times as foster mummy Charlene says she flinches and is nervous and cowers when she goes through doorways we are hoping Dolly will now have a full life full of love and a sense of freedom.

Daddy, Fluffy is just adorable... see updated pics of him having some fun time in the field at the kennels. He’s smitten with his young kennel worker and he adores her as she does him, he’s still a little wary of owner but not done anything horrible just a little nervous but happily takes food gently from her. Once covid 19 lockdown has been lifted we are hoping when kennel workers are back at work and with more human interaction he was come on leaps and bounds. He already has a potential amazing home so let’s Fluffy carries on in this direction.

Dolly’s brother Zeus now named Zuki has definitely landed on his feet, enjoys his new fur baby older sister Lilly and even likes the cat! He was a little unsure of mum and dad the first few days but with some advice from us we’ve had a lovely update and have said he’s like a changed dog. Enjoying his walks and lapping up his new life of luxury. You deserve the best buddy!

Whilst we update you on the 4 doggies I will say we didn’t quite realise the expense of what was to come which no one could foresee! Our only aim was to get those doggies safe. Dolly’s vet bill so far is nearly £800.00, we are yet to receive Buddy’s bill but for two emergency visits, two lots of antibiotics, treatment of wound and consultation I’d imagine this will be around £3-400.00! Then we are waiting for confirmation but were quoted in the region of £1000.00 for little cash who we sadly lost last night due to an issue on his small intensities which was discovered at a specialist vets. We also have paid out £350.00 for essentials the dogs in foster needed as well as £70.00 a week kennel fees for fluffy... this currently is in the region of £2,500.00 and that’s without Dolly’s future vet visit and any further treatment Buddy may need. This is an extortionate amount and as a small rescue we simply do not have the funds. I know lots have donated to our go fund me page, which we are extreme grateful for but we desperately need more help to help pay these bills. We stepped in to help and I’d do it again in a heartbeat even if I had to get a loan! However this is a huge expense when we already save so many Romanian dogs from death and have monthly expenses already for all our dogs here in the UK and in Romania. Please please share and consider donating whatever you can, we really appreciate it.

Thank you x
