Hello everyone!

As most of you already know, Emma and Eli have received some pretty devestating news.

In lieu of flowers and cards, monetary donations have been requested. Fortunately, the Roth’s will have many of their medical expenses covered; however, both will be out of work for a while.

Below is the text to the Facebook post Emma put up earlier today:

“Friends and family—

Eli and I truly hate to do a whole facebook post but it feels like the best way to streamline communication. We are so lucky to have such a huge support system. We were overwhelmed with love. With that, we have sooooo many people we want to keep updated that it is becoming overwhelming especially with all of the medical information and appointments we are trying to process and keep straight.

BACK STORY
Eli went to the GBMC ER on Sunday (2/10/19) afternoon after a month of pain in his stomach and back. He had unsuccessful appointments at urgent care and primary care and his symptoms weren’t going away. At the ER, a CT scan was performed which revealed many tumors in his stomach, lungs, and back. He was kept overnight and and bloodwork was done. On Monday (2/11/19), it was determined the origin was testicular and surgery was performed. We were discharged that night.

Since then, we’ve been running around getting lots of things prepped. Yesterday (2/12/19), an MRI revealed it has also spread to the brain. Due to potential risks during chemo, our doctor at GBMC determined that we would be best treated at University of Maryland for the first week. Eli will be admitted there tonight (2/13/19) and stay inpatient for 5-7 days to start.

This is all we know at this time and more will be revealed this first week. We do appreciate everyone but we are also requesting some level of privacy until we have more infonation. It has been hard for me to keep up with all of our loved ones while trying to manage these logistics. I’ll be group texting a few individuals from each area of our lives so you can reach out to them to start:
My mom (Eva)
Dad (Harry)
Ilana
Harman
Mackenzie
Sara
Liam (no Facebook)
Hunter
((I’ll tag them in the comments))

We understand a lot of people are interested in providing support. With the next few weeks, there will definitely be opportunities. For now, we are trying to figure out our needs, financial and otherwise.

Thank you all so much!”

Please give what you can and remember every little bit counts. I know people say that all the time, butttt seriously. It does.

The Roth’s are extremely grateful for all the support they have already received, so I thank you on their behalf. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Thank you all,
Harman
