Ross Jr. Emergency Medical

Hi everyone, Melisa here... Ross's big sister and Ross Jr.'s aunt. Let me tell you... we have had quite the last week in our neck of the woods! Our newest and most cuddly addition is currently struggling for his life, fighting off RSV/pneumonia and must be life-flighted down to Stanford Hospital. He is only 10 days old! His parents have not left his side, and will have to find lodging in Palo Alto until he is released from the NICU. We hope we can all band together and take the stress of finances off the table for them as they focus on making sure he is healthy and well.
Jr's entry into this world was earlier than we expected. He was born at 37 weeks, while both mom and baby suffered from cholestasis and preeclampsia. So to tell you how grateful we were that he safely made it out and into the world is an understatement!
No new parent plans on major medical issues arising for their child, and especially not at 10 days old. During a time when baby and family should be home and bonding, they have been in the hospital, worried about their new son and if he will be strong enough to fight and survive. The heartbreak is palpable.
We ask that you find it in your hearts to help relieve whatever stress we can and let them know they will still be able to take care of their responsibilities and stay with their son. It is already stressful enough having a newborn, but new parents shouldn't have to have the stress they are currently under. They have not slept in days.
