Rosewood Community Art Project (BLM Mural)

Tax deductible

Rosewood, our moment has finally arrived! We started the community art project last year in response to the killings of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and Ahmaud Arbery.  What started as a neighborhood street mural…has now evolved into a fully fledged collaborative effort that will now be featured downtown on North Main Street.

We came together in the spirit of community and solidarity to support the Black Lives of this city and the world. You didn’t give up on supporting this effort and the mission of the art project. I thank you. Your work and support have gotten us everything we needed. We have the  petition signatures. We have the art. And we finally have a premiere location, thanks to Sweet Temptations and our neighbors in the Earlewood Community.

We plan to begin the mural on July 8th and this will be the first mural in the city to actually say the powerful words of hope, resilience, and
allyship. Black Lives Matter.

Robb Kershaw graciously lent his talents and created our art. And thanks to One Columbia, muralist Ariel Flowers has been consulting on the project. These two young black creatives are phenomenal. And if Black Lives truly matter, we must compensate black creatives.

Far too often, black creatives go without pay because they are doing something for a good cause or the work will garner more attention. No longer is that acceptable. Let’s work together to support the black artists behind the art that makes our communities and cities great!

Our goal is $3,000. One thousand for each of the artists and the remaining thousand to cover the cost of supplies. A collective effort got us this far and I am certain it will get us to our fundraiser goal. We can do this together! Donate today and let’s make this project a reality and support black artists in the process.

All donations will be received by One Columbia.

Let’s put our money where are mouths and hearts are and let’s raise some funds.

Thank you!
