Rosemary Krebs cancer treatment

Donation protected
Daniel and Jazz Krebs just had their beautiful young family’s world turned upside down. They are both Air Force veterans in their mid-20’s who are working as well as taking classes to advance their careers. They are working so hard to give their 4-year-old son Asher and 2-year-old daughter Rosemary the very best future possible.

Last week the unthinkable happened to them. On Tuesday 8/25/2020 they took little Rosemary into Children’s Hospital in Boston because she had been having stomach pains. At the hospital the doctors found a tumor and 4 days later told Dan and Jazz the words no parent should ever have to hear, their daughter Rosemary has cancer. After the team of doctors finished all the invasive and necessary testing they explained to Daniel and Jazz that Rosemary has a cancer called rhabdomyosarcoma, and it is stage 3. Rosemary started emergency chemotherapy Sunday 8/30/2020 just 5 days after her parents took her to the emergency room with a stomachache. Jazz clipped a lock of Rosemary’s hair yesterday because they expect it will be gone by the end of the week.

What this means for the Krebs family is that Rosemary will have to endure a long and aggressive treatment at Children’s Hospital that will include daily radiation paired with chemotherapy for months in an effort to shrink the tumor until they are eventually able to remove it. Once that finally happens, they will continue weekly chemotherapy for a minimum of 18 months. The treatment will have the short-term side effects that come with radiation and chemotherapy, as well as long term life altering effects for Rosemary such as infertility. The gravity of the situation is almost too heavy to bear.

Being at Children’s Hospital every day for such an extended amount of time will be incredibly difficult for Daniel and Jazz logistically and financially because they live far outside the city, and especially since they have their young son Asher to care for as well. The most important thing is to get Rosemary the treatment she needs to survive, and they will do whatever it takes, but that means putting work and school on hold to care for Rosemary full time until she beats this.

Anything to help alleviate what will be an immense financial burden due to this heartbreaking situation would help them greatly as they try to navigate what will be a long and difficult road ahead.  Thank you for helping them through what no family should have to go through, and please send them all your positive thoughts and prayers and we will be sure to post updates.
