Root Life In Africa: BIPOC Healing Retreat!
Donate to this one of kind urban healing retreat & help uplift the communities in which we reside & interact with!
Participants will be introduced to many types of holistic healing practices that will benefit them in their own personal journeys of healing; in addition, participants will be able to take these new found skills, insights & techniques back to their own communities to facilitate healing on o communal level!
*Message to our white allies, friends & family:
It is important, for the healing of BIPOC individuals, to have moments in time to show up, exist & commune in spaces of their own; free of triggers & reminders of generational trauma that can not be magically erased, ignored or forgotten.
Please keep in mind that these temporary moments of exclusivity are ALL about what is needed for certain aspects of BIPOC healing; contrary to some trains of thought, its NOT about discriminating against & spreading hate towards other groups of people!
If this triggers an uncomfortable feeling, I invite you to ask yourself, why does the thought of a BIPOC only event make you feel uneasy?
-Is it the fear of some fantasized mass retaliation for all of the oppression that has happened over the last 4 centuries?
-Is it an innate desire/need, fueled by fear, to feel in control through being present & contributing to the dictation of the healing process?
-Do you feel that healing can come only when you are in the space & contributing what you see fit?
-Is it a privileged position of social living that requires everything to revolve around just your existence, your feelings & your comfort levels?
There are certain aspects of healing that can only come from the depths that exists within; this event intends to address those aspects of healing for BIPOC individuals.
I encourage you, I request of you, to take a big leap forward in your own roles in this healing process by contributing to the success of this healing retreat & other similar projects!
These funds raised would go directly towards providing scholarships for potential participants who may be in a position of financial hardship, materials for adequate programming, healthy food to nourish the participants, stipends for skilled facilitators & funding for future events/projects/retreats!
Be certain that by donating you are not just contributing to BIPOC healing; in essence, donating is an act that directly contributes to your own healing as well!
Thank you in advance for your contributions!
