Help us to get a new roof

Hi guys,
We are an Italian couple from Genova, moved to Panama in 2010 to find a new simpler lifestyle and new opportunities to stay close to nature. We started buying a small property in the countryside close to the Pacific Ocean and then we built our house: what a hard matter! Moving in a new country with a limited budget and a few true friends could mean to hire not trust and professional workers and, sometimes, to be charged more then locals. Anyway we did a half miracle reaching our first goal: a pretty wooden house with all the basic comforts and one room for B&B guests.
Last year finally we could build a small cottage because just one room to rent was not enough: due to our high ecological orientation and again a very low budget we decided to test our tenacity building it by ourselves, for the first time in our life, using recycled materials as glass and plastic bottles.
We are happy living our dream and we have many new social and eco-friendly projects but we have still a big problem we can't manage only with our funds: the main house thatched (palm leaves) roof needs urgently to be replaced. At the moment we had to cover it with a waterproof fabric for heavy rains.
