Ron's new heart
Donation protected
My husband Ron was-diagnosed with cardiomyopathy several years ago he had a defibrillater and was taking many medications to improve his heart function in jan2017 he was dx with endocarditis which required removal of Defibrillator and he remained in the hospital for over a-month Ron was-then sent to Westchester medical which is 2.5 hours away from home. he needed a heart transplant and because of his blood type they said it could take several months. He remained in the hospital and on 5/16 we were blessed with a heart. We would first like to thank the donor family for the gift of life. We learned a lot about organ donations and only 27% of New Yorkers are listed as organ donors. So please-give the gift of life and sign up as a donor when you renew your drivers license. The cost of travel/ hotel and many expenses are overwhelming and with Ron out on disability the bills are overwhelming any donation would be appreciated the picture below is after his transplant. The other picture posted is he and I after his surgery. He will have to continue to follow up at the hospital for heart biopsies to make sure the heart does not reject but overall he is doing great
