Ronnie Silan's Cancer Journey

My brother, Ronnie Silan, was unfortunately diagnosed with having a rare tumor inside of his spinal cord, the day before his 46th birthday back in 2012. At that time, the tumor progressed in size to the point where it left him quadriplegic 3 weeks after finding the tumor. Immediately after becoming quadriplegic, he had surgery to attempt to remove the tumor, which was not successful. They were only able to get half of the tumor, and after testing the tumor, it turned out to be Glioblastoma (Brain Cancer).
At that time, our family was advised that he had less than 6 months left to live. He has fought immensely to overcome his cancer, with great strides accomplished surpassing 3 given timelines. As recently as June 2014, he was told that he only had 6 – 8 weeks left on Mother Earth. We are now at the end of the 2014 year and he has resigned himself to now join Hospice Care.
After many months of chemo, radiation and rehabilitation, he was told that, last week, that he can no longer do chemotherapy and nothing else can be done for him. The only thing that we can do now is to make him as comfortable as possible.
Last year, when our father passed away I promised my dad that I would take care of him and send him back to the Philippines to be buried with my father. This was my very last promise to my father and I want to fufill it.
I'm am putting my pride aside and I humble myself to ask for donations of any size, to help cover costs for hospice, funeral and shipping costs. These costs are all extremely expensive and a heavy burden on many families.
