On early Sunday morning of November 17, 2019, our family unexpectantly lost my Father, Ron W. Joao, Sr. My dad was 54 years old and is the youngest son of 5 children to Otto and Vivienne Joao. He left behind my mother, Tania Joao, his 3 children, Ron W. Joao, Jr, Cieanna Joao, April Greenleaf and 6 grandchildren. My father was a simple man who lived an adventurous life. Family was always his top priority, but he was always willing to help others. He truly had a heart of gold and was the protector of my family. He loved the land, he enjoyed farming, and he was a great support to my mother. They loved each other so much that Dad would cater to my mom’s every need. They were truly two love birds that could not be separated.
He was a bushman at heart and loved to live the self-sustainable lifestyle. Because of this bushman/survivalist lifestyle, he was offered opportunities to work on a few TV shows for a major network, but he was a and humble man. He always adapted to his situations and “MacGyver”-ed everything to make things work in his favor. He was also a small local celebrity on Molokai because of his YouTube channel, Mr. Irie. He was always educating people and sharing his knowledge of everything from agriculture, religion, to space, and everything in between.
My father will have funeral services in Molokai, HI so everyone can have the opportunity to say goodbye. Dad will be cremated shortly after the viewing/funeral services and will remain with my mother.
Funeral services will be held on 11/30/19. Viewing will be from 09:00 am – 11:00 am and Funeral Services will be from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm.
As of today, funds are needed for funeral cost and other expenses. My father’s death was very unexpected.
