Words cannot share how devastated I am to share the story of sweet, beautiful Eva, daughter of our talented and kind Milwaukee Studio Professional, Mr. Alexander Romanov, as she has been recently diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). I am heartbroken by the diagnosis. Mr. Romanov and his wife are just beginning their journey with Eva, who has now entered into the fight of her life.
Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL), also called Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia or Acute Lymphoid Leukemia, is a fast-growing cancer targeted at a type of white blood cells called lymphocytes. Normal lymphocytes help your body fight infections. In ALL, the lymphocytes are cancerous and don't fight infections well. These cancerous cells (or leukemic blasts) grow quickly and crowd out the bone marrow, preventing it from making the normal red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets that your body needs.
About 6,000 people in the United States are diagnosed with ALL each year. It is the most common type of leukemia in children under age 15.
As you may all be aware, myself and my team very often refer to our Fred Astaire students, friends and professionals as family, and seeing any one of these family members suffer, fills my heart with so much pain.
My team and I are praying and supporting the Romanov family in every possible way.
We would like to say how truly blessed we are to have all of you in our lives as you have not only continuously demonstrated so many acts of kindness, but have offered your continued support at times of need. We know you will join us in doing the same for Mr. Romanov and his family.
The medical treatments little miss, 4 year old Eva will have to endure are heartbreaking as is the financial burden this young family will be facing.
