60 year old, Rita Sklar-Rolon born on February 25th, 1957 in Brooklyn, NY died today January 7th, 2018 due to smoke inhalation from an electrical fire in her two story home in the Oakland Gardens section of Queens, NY.
She was raised in Bayside, Queens and left behind her husband of 37 years David Rolon and only child, Cassandra Rolon.
The fire took place at about 11:30am and the house that had been in the family since 1967 is destroyed. Rita Sklar-Rolon was diagnosed with lung cancer on December 17th and was just advised 5 days ago the cancer was in remission.
Everything has been lost in the fire and this gofundme is to help raise money for the funeral expenses and to winterize the property to avoid water pipes bursting and further damage during these brutally cold and sub freezing temperatures in NYC this past week. Any and all donations are appreciated and 100% of the proceeds will be going to the Rolon family.
