Imagine how awful it would be if you were miles and miles from home watching as your house is slowly taken over by flood waters! Imagine how devastating it would be. Think of all the thoughts that would consume you while trying to asses the damages from afar while the conditions worsen! April and George Rohrberg are living that right now in Richland North Carolina.
April has been my best friend for nearly 20 years, meeting while stationed in California. Just as I am trying to do for her now, she was there for me when I was in need. We came home for our first Thanksgiving away and our house was robbed while gone. They took everything of value and destroyed the house. April talked the apartment manager into letting her come to my house and clean it before we came home so that we wouldn't have to deal with that when first arriving. How amazing is she?!?!?! From that point she has been my best friend. Now she needs help and although I can't be with her right now as she is in North Carolina and I in Oklahoma, I am here to do all I can and petition you all to help do the same.
Like many others they have been hit hard by hurricane Florence. With little time to prepare before evaluation they took only some items of clothing. Not being in a flood zone, they like many of their neighbors, do not have flood insurance. Therefore THE DAMAGES NOT BE COVERED. They are going to be financially responsible for the bulk, if not all, of the repairs that will be needed to their home.
Having a young son and being so far away from all of their family it is important that they are able to do this as quickly as possible. These funds are going to help with that. As you can see from the pictures the flood waters are just got worse and as of right now they are going to have to replace everything on the bottom floor. With the kitchen downstairs this is going to be extremely costly for them!!!!! Please help us in our efforts to cover their expenses of doing this. Help us make this a little less hard for them and show that when in need they are loved and cared for by many. EVERY LITTLE BIT MAKES A DIFFERENCE! Even if you can only afford $5, PLEASE do so.
