Rodney Badger needs your help...

Rodney Badger wears many hats in his life. He’s a loving husband of 15 years, father of 2 (David, 23 & Ravyn, 14), brother to 4 siblings, is a friend to many & is a cancer survivor! He is genuine, funny & always willing to lend a hand when needed. He’s done many fundraisers for Toys for Tots, American Cancer Society & Wounded Warriors.

Unfortunately, Rodney has been dealing with medical issues for several years. He’s currently living with terminal Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD), stage 2 COPD, Asthma, Fibromyalgia/ Inflammatory Polyarthropathy, Coronary Arteriosclerosis & Atelectasis in his lungs.

While dealing with all these medical issues, Rodney continued working. He’s worked in Hospitality & Management in OH, FL, MI & Bermuda for over 25 years & he’s also pursued his passion of performing stand-up comedy since 2007.

Recently, his health has deteriorated more rapidly resulting in him having to retire from his job in Hospitality resulting in loss of the main source of his families income. Now, he must wait 5 months to apply for Disability & Social Security, which means he could be without benefits for up to a year as he waits for processing. His home was also recently damaged during Hurricane Ian causing $44k in damage & extendsive clean up
costs not covered by insurance.

With limited income coming in, he’s struggling to make ends meet & needs some help to support his family. Any funding you can contribute to help him & his family is very needed & will be greatly appreciated.

See what Rodney's Family and Friends have to say about him:

Rodney's Sister, Nikki, says:

My Brother Rodney is a very special person to me and to many others. He is the most accepting and understanding person I have ever known. He has always been passionate about truly knowing and understanding people. He is interested in each person’s background, culture and their families. When we were growing up his friends would tease him asking if he came to visit them or their parents. He is also obviously funny and really enjoys when he can make other people happy. Another thing that is unique about Rodney is how deeply he cares for other people, he literally will feel their happiness or their pain in his own which is likely why enjoys comedy so much.

Rodney's friend, for 30+ years, Adem says:

Rodney Badger is a true friend and a genuinely good person that I have known for well over 30 years. He was one of the first friends that I made when I moved to Columbus, Ohio from New Jersey in the 7th grade. During high school, I have fond memories of hanging out with Rodney in the University Village neighborhood and spending weekend evenings at
the local malls which was an early ‘90s rite of passage! Rodney always kept everyone in high school laughing with his stories and sense of humor. In the years post-high school and college, we have both moved around the country but I have consistently remained in close contactwith Rodney, despite the physical distance between us.

When it matters most, Rodney has been there. When I got married, Rodney was there. When my wife and I celebrated our 40th birthday party and invited friends and family, Rodney travelled from Florida to North Carolina and was there. He’s the sort of guy that will go out of his way to be there for the people that he cares about. I’ve been very proud to see Rodney develop into a dedicated family man and worker within the hospitality industry. He’s the sort of guy that people are drawn to due to his outgoing personality, comedic sense and positive energy. In all social situations, Rodney is the life of the party.

Due to his health issues, Rodney has been forced into an early retirement. I ask that you consider contributing to his GoFundMe effort because Rodney would do the same for you if you were in his situation. Rodney has been there for us, now it’s our turn to be there for him.

Rodney’s Friend, Dom, fellow comic and co-comedy producer says:

Rodney Badger has been a truly inspirational person in my life. Though I’ve only know him for a short time he has impacted my life more than people I have known for years. I was introduced to him as recommendation as a comedian who was a rising star and I must have him on one of my shows. I reached out to him and immediately I felt like he was someone special and put him on a show. From the start Rodney was always someone who always wanted to help and one of the most humble person I have ever met. Someone who would put people interest in front of him without an agenda, just truly genuine. It was not for months that he even told me that he has a terminal disease and was going thru treatment due to his declining health. You would never know and all he wanted to do is put a smile on people faces. He was loved by audience and his fellow comics alike and a joy to have around. Sadly his health has declined and no longer able to continue to work.

He has applied for disability benefits but will have to wait many months if not a year to receive them putting him a financial and emotional strain in addition to dealing with his declining health. I ask each of you to please look into your hearts and donate any amount you can give to make sure that Rodney does not have to struggle during this difficult time. He has given so much to all everyone and made so many people smile, let’s all get together and put a smile on this amazing man.
