Rochelle Ameer, RN - Emergency Fund

On Monday morning (9/28/2020) at around 3:30 am, one of our own night shift nurses, Rochelle Ameer, received a devastating phone call while at work.  Police were calling to inform her that her son, age 27, had been shot multiple times during an attempted car jacking in St. Louis.  Her son was a Lyft driver and had just picked up his rider when the tragedy happened.  Rochelle's son was taken to Barnes for emergency surgery and he did not survive his injuries.   Rochelle also lost her husband quite suddenly a few years back leaving her with 7 children to care for on her own while working full time as an RN.   If you've ever met Rochelle, she is the kindest, most genuine person that you could possibly meet.  She is a friend to everyone that she meets.  She is a compassionate and caring nurse.  She has always been willing to pick up extra shifts to help her 6 North team out whenever asked.   Rochelle shared with her 6 North family that she doesn't have the means to bury her son as this came quite unexpectedly and in a particularly rough year.  She needs our help now.   The 6 North team is starting this GoFundMe page in an effort to help her through this most difficult time.  Please share this and spread the word with our DePaul family and please contribute if you can.  No amount is too small or unappreciated.   Thank you so much & please keep Rochelle and her children in your prayers.
