Robyn Schlemmer's Medical Bills

Donation protected
As many of you know, our mother, Robyn Schlemmer, suffered a brain aneurysm this year in January. This life altering event was not only devastating enough to test our family, but strong enough to test our faith. In order to repair the ruptured artery, and stop the life-threatening brain bleed, emergency surgery was required, and during that time we faced another roadblock. During the surgery our mother suffered a stroke which paralyzed the left side of her body. For 3 weeks our mother lied in the ICU fighting for her life, but by the grace of God she survived. After waking up from a coma, she was released to an intensive rehabilitation hospital for several weeks. From there, she spent the next 4 weeks in another rehab hospital focusing on physical and occupational therapy. Finally, by the middle of March, mom was released to come home. Unfortunately, the struggles remain constant.
Due to the effects of her stroke she requires 24 hour care. Our father, Jim, has done everything humanly possible to provide the best care and love our mother needs and deserves, but unfortunately it has caused high levels of stress for the both of them. Our parents have managed to obtain help from several people during the week in order for our father to continue working the minimum full time hours required. Having to pay for home care and hospital bills has become a stressful situation for them, and we know they will never ask for any help. It is not in their nature to ask for help, but to give it to others. They are the type of people that give 100% of themselves, 100% of the time, and genuinely ask for nothing in return. In fact, those of you who know them would agree that they would honestly get angry if you even tried to chip in on the dinner bill. It is this reason alone, if not for a million more that we are asking for your help. Because we know, that if we don’t, they never will.
Our parents are the hardest working people we know and it saddens us to see them so stressed, overwhelmed, and not knowing where to begin. Most of you have been around our parents to know the kind of people they are. They are the people that always help, always open their door to you, always put the people they love first, and most importantly they always love. They would do anything in the world to ease someone’s pain or put a smile on their face. We have always opened our home to anyone who needs it, and now it’s time to open our hearts to help them so they can focus on the only important things right now; enjoying life’s precious moments and continuing to get stronger.
Please only do what you can and know that it will only be put towards medical bills and home care. We love all of you and cannot express how grateful we are to have you all around us and to have you cheering on the most amazing woman in our lives.
