The Burning Tigers FIRST Robotics Team has a new home after 17 years in Brighton. We welcome the team to the The Makery
@ Coolidge Corner and we are pleased to invite Brookline students (16+) and mentors to participate.
The team is led by award winning physics and engineering educator and longtime Brookine resident, Elly-May O’Toole. Her program has impacted many lives over the years with a large number of her students pursuing careers in science and technology and earning scholarships to elite colleges and universities.
The Burning Tigers are ready to design and build their next robot for the upcoming FIRST Robotics Competition
starting in late March but they need our help. The Makery is providing space, tools, staff and mentorship. The team needs your help to cover a portion of these and other expenses so they can build their robot, travel to the competition and buy necessary components.
- Helps the Makery to give the team and mentors exclusive use of the workshop for three afternoon/evenings per week for the next eight weeks
- Helps the team with travel, accomodations and food
- Helps the team buy necessary components and equipment for building their robot
The team is made up of highly motivated Boston Public School students who are not offered a program like this through their school at this time. Brookline students are invited and encouraged to join the team at no cost.
Your support in bringing enriching and important programming to our neighborhood is very much appreciated.
