Robin's Travel Gift
Donation protected
Dear friends, as you know, Robin is grieving not only Lee's loss but also the life they shared for almost 40 years in Boston with its close proximity to so many of their friends. Because of this, I would love to help give him the gift of travel so he can visit some of his friends and places that are dear to him.
I know he is hoping to make a fall trip up to New England to partake in a writer's retreat (full disclosure: I have vested interest in helping to see that happen), and also to visit some area friends. I also know he has talked about wanting to spend some separate time this winter to visit Provincetown, a place that was so important and special for him and Lee.
I recently told Robin about this scheme and invited him to access these funds directly. My original plan was to use the money to buy a Southwest Gift card, hoping I'd raise enough for a round trip or two, but we have raised so much more than I anticipated that it will be better for him to use this money directly as he wishes.
While this fund may not entirely cover the travel he may want to do, it can at least help defray some of his costs or make it a realistic possibility for him to visit his far-flung friends and stay connected despite geographical distances. Especially during this time of mourning and grief. Thank you, friends, for your contributions!
