About My Challenge
About 4 years ago I discovered cycling, having been a competitive person all my life I found a way at 50 to keep motivated, exercise and push myself without punishing my body to the extreme.
Reaching 50 also has brought more awareness to the reality of the fraility of life, people who have lost family and friends to disease and through poor support and aid.
My ride is to provide support to my dear brother Jonathon who lost his wife Jane aged just 35 to cancer and to my friends who have lost the battle and those that are fighting still. I am also riding for Parkinsons, again in support for a dear friend and lastly for the BC Childrens Hospital, a charity close to my heart.
Lamborghini Vancouver has fully supported various charities over the years and I am proud to represent us on this noble cause.
For those who would like to support my ride if you have lost someone or have somebody fighting sickness please feel free to propose a name, I intend to have a jersey made with all those names remembered and honoured and put on for my tour of Europe.
The ride details are below, I will also post daily updates along the way.
We cycle from the Eiffel Tower through Paris into the fields of wheat and sunflowers of rural France. Through the gentle rolling hills that form much of our landscape en-route provide us with the perfect preparation for the Col de la Faucille (1323m), a climb that has featured many times in the Tour de France. We then have a wonderful descent to Geneva and its beautiful lake!
